Mahi Mahi Tacos with Avocado Cream Sauce

About the Recipe

Not quite blackened mahi. Great for tacos or by themselves like a chicken (mahi) tender.

The Ingredients

Mahi Tacos

• 4 (6 oz.) mahi-mahis, fresh or thawed, cut into 1 inch strips

• 2 1/2 Tablespoons of Cajun season (recipe below) or your favorite taco or Cajun seasoning.

• Cooking spray.

• 2 cups finely shredded cabbage

• 1 avocado, sliced

• 2 green onions, chopped

• 1 lemon, sliced into wedges

• 8 tortillas


Seasoning

• 4 tablespoons smoked paprika

• 3 tablespoons fine kosher salt

• 3 tablespoons garlic powder

• 2 tablespoon ground black pepper

• 2 tablespoons onion powder

• 2 tablespoon dried oregano

• 2 1/2 tablespoon cayenne

• 1/2 tablespoon dried thyme

• 1/2 tablespoon of dried rosemary


Avocado Cream Sauce

• 1 ripe medium avocado

• 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

• 1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream

• 1 minced garlic clove

• Salt and pepper, to taste


The Method

Step 1


Pat dry the fish with a paper towel; spritz or rub the mahi mahi tenders with olive oil; season with your choice of seasoning on both sides.


Step 2


Mix or blend ingredients for the Avocado Cream Sauce and set aside to top the mahi tenders.


Step 3


Place the fish in the air fryer basket and cook 6 minutes at 400ºF. Flip tenders and cook an additional 3 minutes or until light golden brown and flakes easily.


Step 4


Serve with tortillas and top with cabbage, Avocado, green onion, Avocado Cream Sauce and your favorite salsa or hot sauce.
